Praying for you

AUSTRALIA

“Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.”
Proverbs 22:6 NLT.
Happy Mother’s Day Mommy! Thank you for the love and life you give our family 🌼

Sharing with you a reflection this beautiful Easter morning, from today’s reading from the book of Colossians, as well as a beautiful prayer taken from the @WordAmongUs magazine.
May the risen Lord Jesus bless you all with His healing, peace, abundance and love. Happy Easter everyone!

Brothers and sisters: If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Think of what is above, not of what is on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with him in glory.
Lord we thank you for the love you have for us. That inspite of our weakness and sin, you offered yourself up for us that we may find joy, healing and forgiveness. I love you Lord. Forgive me for falling short and for failing to love. Please grant me the grace to always remember your love for me on that cross and how you conquered sin and death by the power of your love. Amen

“Yet it was our infirmities that he bore,
our sufferings that he endured,
while we thought of him as stricken,
as one smitten by God and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our offenses,
crushed for our sins;
upon him was the chastisement that makes us whole,
by his stripes we were healed.
We had all gone astray like sheep,
each following his own way;
but the Lord laid upon him
the guilt of us all.” – Isaiah 52

There are times when the stresses of the world, work and family weigh me down. I’m blessed to have friends and family who remind me to slow down, rest and unwind. When we give our bodies, mind and spirit the permission to rest, we can rely on Gods promise that “by restful waters he will lead us..”

Blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it. (Luke 11:28)
An excerpt from today’s reflection from the Word Among Us Magazine, on the feast of the common of the Blessed Virgin Mary. 10-10-20
This reflection has helped me realise that Gods plan for us, and His steadfast guidance and love should be at the forefront of our thoughts and all we do. This inner disposition grants peace, courage, wisdom and grace.
“Blessed is everyone who, like Mary, looks beyond human success or apparent failure and sees the kingdom of God at work. It’s easy to feel good about Jesus when the crowds are cheering him and God appears to be with him. Similarly, we might assume God is happy with us when all is going well in our lives. But then, when hardship or betrayal strikes, we wonder if God has abandoned us. But Jesus’ life, and his words today, teach us that God is at work even when we seem abandoned.
No matter what happens in your life, you can still hear his word and embrace it. Try to keep your eyes fixed on your heavenly Father. Try to see your life through his eyes. Let Mary show you that being blessed doesn’t mean life will always go your way. Even if today ends up being the worst day ever, know that God has a word for you and a plan for you”
“Come, Holy Spirit, and open my eyes! Help me to see Jesus in every situation today.

I feel blessed to have a home, and be able to reflect on Gods goodness and mercy in it.
How wonderful and beautiful it must be to dwell in the Lords house.
May He dwell in our lives and in our homes today, and always, as we reflect on his goodness.
They are happy who dwell in your house, Lord.
How delightful is your dwelling-place, Lord of hosts!
My soul is weak with longing for the courts of your palace.
My heart and my body rejoice in the living God.
Even the sparrow finds itself a home,
the swallow a nest to raise her young –
in your altars, O Lord,
Lord of strength, my king and my God.
Blessed are they who dwell in your house:
they will praise you for ever.

You probably don’t see it fully now, but your life is woven into the tapestry of God’s perfect plan for the world. So don’t get caught up in minor squabbles. Don’t let small concerns become sources of deep anxiety. Instead, take a broader look at your life and know that your God has great things planned for you.
“Thank you, Lord, for the beauty of your plan! I trust in your wisdom and in the way you are forming me.”

“Lord, please bless and heal this person, and may your love and protection be upon them and their families always”
Today I wanted to share some reflections and excepts with you from the Word Among us Magazine on the need, the power and the beauty of praying for others.
“Intercession may be a very important form of prayer, but we need to remember that all prayer originates with Jesus, not with us.
When a need strikes us, whether we see that need in the world, the Church, our neighborhood, or our family, we can be confident that this need is on Jesus’ own heart. He is the One who has opened our eyes to it and has moved us to pray for this need to be met.
Sometimes we clearly know what to pray for: “Heal this sickness, Lord.” “Let food aid get to this starving child.” “Give me the strength to make the right decision.” But at other times we don’t know how to pray; we just sense that something is wrong and that we need to take action.
The best thing we can do in these situations is to place them in God’s hands and ask him to act in whatever way he knows is best.
Intercessory prayer is a beautiful way to work with the harvest master, but it’s not the only way. As we pray for people, we can also ask, “Lord, is there something you want me to do for him or her?”
Jesus loves it when we bring people’s needs before him. It shows that we aren’t concerned only for ourselves. It shows that our vision is broadening to the world around us and that our hearts are becoming more like his.
Jesus loves it even more when we roll up our sleeves and try to help the people we are praying for—because that’s exactly what he did for us. It may not always be easy. It may cost us some of our time and energy. But at the same time, it is very rewarding to work alongside Jesus, the master of the harvest.
“Jesus, thank you for the needs you are laying on my heart. Help me find the courage to take action as well.”
