Trust in Him and He will help you.

Sirach 2: 1-6

‘My Son, if you come forward to serve the Lord, prepare yourself for temptation. Set your heart right and be steadfast, and do not be hasty in time of calamity. Cleave to him and do not depart, that you may be honored at the end of your life.

Accept whatever is brought upon you in changes that humble you be patient.

For gold is tested in fire and acceptable men in the furnace of humiliation. Trust in Him, and He will help you; make your ways straight, and hope in Him.

Today, I reflect on the goodness, mercy and wisdom of God. When we are weak, we are unable to see things from His perspective.

The other day I was feeling a bit sorry for myself, a bit sad and  vulnerable. I thought Id bring these feelings to the Lord. I had a sense to ask myself where these feelings were coming from, and narrowed them to envy and pride.

I them remembered that Jesus carried so much more and bore all out of His Love for us and Our Father. Ought I try not do the same? A feeling of peace and joy overcame me.

“Trust in Him, and He will make your ways (and thoughts) straight… again.

Let us all be blessed in the knowledge that He is always with us in good times and in bad.

God cares for all the needs of those who follow Him..

Jeremiah 17:7-8

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose hope is in the Lord. He is like a tree planted beside the waters that stretches out its roots to the stream: It fears not the heat when it comes, its leaves stay green; In the year of drought it shows no distress, but still bears fruit.God cares for all the needs of those who follow him. Lord, God of hosts, happy is the man who trusts in you.”

I chanced on this beautiful verse from Jeremiah in the Liturgy of Hours  (IV) during my Tuesday afternoon stay at the Blessed Sacrament at the Sacred Heart church. As I sit  before the Lord each week, it is a tremendous blessing to  Seek..Listen.. Renew and find Peace.
