Was pleasantly surprised to see this contributed letter on the web today. Thanks Weekend Australian!
I’m in week 5 of my Ignatian prayer adventure, a beautiful online retreat that has quieted and calmed my soul. Here is a beautiful prayer of St Teresa of Avila that was part of my daily reflection today on the story of Martha and Mary. Sometimes, I let my mind and worries reflect the anxiety and worries of Martha. It is so refreshing to be like her sister Mary, basking in the words of Jesus. Sitting comfortably at His feet.
A Prayer by St. Teresa of Ăvila
Let nothing disturb you,
Nothing frighten you;
All things are passing;
God never changes;
Patient endurance attains all things;
Whoever possesses God is wanting in nothing;
God alone suffices.

I’m on my 2nd week doing an online Ignatian retreat that has quieted, weaned and comforted my soul during this time of transition and reflection. I am trying to understand  on Gods purpose for my life, as I approach the next leg of this journey in faith. This excerpt from Margaret Silf has blessed me greatly…
The Challenges of Life
Taken from DOTMAGIS EDITOR
When we are in transition, depending on how serious the breakdown is, we may feel as though almost every aspect of life has been disrupted. The old certainties, the old habits and comfort zones, have been dive-bombed. The old home, the old job, the old âme,â may be almost gone. It may be the time to ask, âWhat is that essential core of who I am that remains through all this upheaval?â This is an important question, because it is this remnant that will be the starter for the new stage of our growth.
The thing about this remnant, this core of being, is that we often donât discover it until the force of change has stripped away the outer layers of past certainties and securities. Just as the seeds of the eucalyptus trees in Australia canât germinate until they are exposed to the intense heat of a forest fire, so, too, there may be deep parts of ourselves that are activated only when the shallower layers are stripped away.
And it isnât just about survival; it is about growth and transformation. The new you that comes through the blast of change will not be just a shadow of your former self, but truly a new you, with deeper layers of your personal potential exposed and invited to grow and flourish. For example, through apparent disaster you may discover skills you never knew you had. You may discover qualities that had never previously been called upon, such as resilience, patience, ingenuity, empathy with others going through similar upheavals, and even a sense of humor to laugh through the tears and glimpse the rainbow through the rain.

I wonder what beautiful and inspiring stories are out there waiting to be told. Do you have something to share about your journey? Come along and share it with us. Here you will only find encouragement, a listener, and a hope that your journey turns out better than it was when you first started it!
I once thought that at the end of each journey, I would  find rest, comfort, peace and contentment. I now know that my journey never ends, and the choices I make along the way – my disposition,  and grace determines whether I will have peace or, will still be looking for it.
I lost my job last Friday. Somewhere along the way, I found the grace and peace to find joy. I prayed for a miracle, and today, I am back on. A temporary assignment, at the same workplace, wondering what happened, and knowing. Deep in m heart that  someone is watching me, and loves me dearly.
Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb, that’s where the fruit is!
My blog is all about journeys. My journey as my family and I relocated our lives, children, home and future to a new land – Australia, with a suitcase each in hand, our small photography Business, a hope, a prayer and faith in His will for our family. No friends, no family or relatives, no job, not even a home or place to stay waited for us in this land of plenty. But as pilgrims on a journey, we met people and angels to lighten our load.
