My daughter Ana asked me to speak at a Veritas group event. Veritas is a group of likeminded people searching for, loving and learning about God, supported by the Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba. I wanted to share my journey in Christ, and how He has blessed me on my mission and desire to live a life of faith, family, education and service.
During this personal life sharing , I will share 3 ways that have helped me find my personal mission in Christ, and some verses from scripture that have helped me reflect on the importance of each.
The Three ways: Listen, Love, Faith
1. LISTEN..
The benefits of Wisdom
Proverbs 2:9 “My child, listen to what I say and treasure my commands.
Turn your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding
Cry out for insight
And ask for understanding
Search for them as you would for silver and seek them like hidden treasures.
Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.
For the Lord grants wisdom!
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to Him.
Then you will understand what is right, just and fair, and you will find the right way to go”
2. LOVE..
Ephesians 5:1 Living in the Light
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.
Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us (you) and offered himself as a sacrifice for us (you) , a pleasing aroma to God.
John 15:12 This is my commandment. Love each other, in the same way I have loved you.
You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that my father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: love each other.
Zephaniah 3:17 For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty saviour, He will take delight in you with gladness, with His love, He will calm all your fears”
3. Trust
Proverbs 3: 1 My Child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many yers and your life will be satisfying,
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on your understanding, seek His will in all your do and He will show you which path to take.
