Seek what is above

Sharing with you a reflection this beautiful Easter morning, from today’s reading from the book of Colossians, as well as a beautiful prayer taken from the @WordAmongUs magazine.

May the risen Lord Jesus bless you all with His healing, peace, abundance and love. Happy Easter everyone!

O God, who on this day,
through your Only Begotten Son,
have conquered death
and unlocked for us the path to eternity,
grant, we pray, that we who keep
the solemnity of the Lord’s Resurrection
may, through the renewal brought by your Spirit,
rise up in the light of life.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever. Amen.

COLOSSIANS 3:1-4 (OR 1 CORINTHIANS 5:6B-8)

Brothers and sisters: If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Think of what is above, not of what is on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with him in glory.

Reflections on Good Friday

Lord we thank you for the love you have for us. That inspite of our weakness and sin, you offered yourself up for us that we may find joy, healing and forgiveness. I love you Lord. Forgive me for falling short and for failing to love. Please grant me the grace to always remember your love for me on that cross and how you conquered sin and death by the power of your love. Amen

“Yet it was our infirmities that he bore,
our sufferings that he endured,
while we thought of him as stricken,
as one smitten by God and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our offenses,
crushed for our sins;
upon him was the chastisement that makes us whole,
by his stripes we were healed.
We had all gone astray like sheep,
each following his own way;
but the Lord laid upon him
the guilt of us all.” – Isaiah 52
